What's it like to work in Children's Social Care?

We spoke to Kiran and Alex, of Children and Families West from Essex County Council about their experiences of working in Children’s Social Care

At Essex County Council, we go above and beyond to support and enhance the lives of children and their families across Essex. Our sole aim is to ensure that every child is safe and happy, and our Social Workers work hard in providing compassion and support to make this happen.

We spoke to Kiran, who works as Service Manager and Alice who works as Team Manager in the Assessment Intervention Service team at Essex County Council. They took time out of their busy day to provide us with an insight into what it is like to work as a Social Care worker in the region, such as the rewards that their role gives them and how they wind down after a long day.
